Brennan focuses her practice on commercial contracting, licensing, intellectual property matters, and related litigation. She assists clients with commercial contract review, including drafting and negotiating master services agreements, consulting services agreements, related statements of work, and SaaS agreements, with a special eye towards intellectual property protection, ownership and licensing.  Brennan also advises clients with trademark identification and selection, prosecution, enforcement and licensing.

Background

With a background in civil litigation defense, Brennan has tried cases to juries at the state and federal level, and has experience in a broad range of contested commercial and other matters. Brennan also has significant alternative dispute resolution experience, including in AAA arbitration and under ICDR Rules.

Brennan earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia where she graduated with distinction and her law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law where she was an editor for the Journal of Global Law & Business.

Brennan has been named among Virginia’s “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine in Alternative Dispute Resolution (2019) and Civil Litigation (2020 and 2021).

Before joining Kaleo Legal in October 2024, Brennan was a partner at a midsize Richmond based firm, working primarily in the civil litigation division. Brennan handled litigation across a wide variety of claims in Virginia, D.C. and Maryland, primarily on behalf of a global warehouse retailer. Brennan also provided transactional corporate guidance across a variety of industries and handled a number of related employment claims. She further served as the sole trademark counsel on behalf of the firm, providing small and large business clients comprehensive trademark counsel.

Brennan most recently worked in house as the commercial contracts managing attorney for a Fortune 500 company handling a wide range and volume of contracts spanning asset protection, technology, privacy and cybersecurity,  logistics, and strategic sourcing, among others. Her practical experience affords a unique perspective that makes her a great asset to clients in pursuing and protecting their interests while anticipating and preempting challenges.
